The clients had a beautiful poolside terrace they barely used. In summer it baked in the sun. In spring and fall the wind ruined it. In winter it sat under a tarp. They wanted a lounge by the water that worked in every season — open to the sky on a clear evening, sealed warm in January — without looking like an add-on bolted onto the house.
Our brief, in one sentence: build one room that does everything.

Rather than picking one trade-off — open vs. enclosed, sun vs. shade, indoor vs. outdoor — we layered three premium systems so the room can become whatever the day calls for.
Insulated Rolling Roof
A motorized louvered roof that opens fully to the sky on a clear evening and seals tight against rain or snow. The louvers are insulated, so the ceiling doesn't radiate heat in summer or cold in winter.

Footings drilled, set and inspected before the frame touched the slab. Powder-coated aluminum raised in sections; louvers and tracks aligned to the millimetre; glass and zip screens fitted last. Permits filed and finalled, site swept clean.

Warm LED strips run inside the frame itself — invisible by day, glowing softly from dusk into the night. Dimmable on a single switch.
It's the parts you don't see that make it last fifteen years
Stainless hardware, sealed motor housings, neoprene gaskets at every louver joint, drainage channels routed through the frame so rainwater runs out and not down the wall. The kind of detail that costs a little more on day one and stops costing forever after.
